INTRODUCTION TO FILMING COURSE: week 1
WELCOME AND WELCOME BACK! Old friends and new members congregate to welcome the newcomers, understand their needs, and enjoy some nibbles

COURSE: week 2 PLANNING YOUR INTRODUCTORY FILM

New members plan their 3-5 min introduction film, assisted by club members. Team up with editors. Also details of a new challenge "Poetry in Motion", and some excellent quality films to watch for remaining members
Tues 1st Oct COURSE: week 3 SOUND AND LIGHTING Course and club members combine for practical exercises demonstrating lighting and sound techniques
FRI 4th Oct SURREY BORDER Interclub Competition Surrey Border Movie Makers meet at 7:45pm at St. Joan's Centre which is beside St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 19 Tilford Road, Farnham, Surrey GU9 8DJ
Tues 8th Oct GATEWAY TROPHY TRIANGLE COMPETITION Reading's turn to host our annual interclub competition between Staines and Bourne End Film Clubs. Course members welcome
Tues 15th Oct COURSE: week 4 Practical filming New members with assistance of camera crews, film their presentations and some excellent quality films to view for remaining members
Tues 22nd Oct COURSE: week 5 DEVELOPING A STORY POSTPONED
Club member Lawrie Kavanagh presents on "How to write a fictional script", demonstrating why some well known films were so successful (part 1 of making a successful film) A mixed bag of films to view this evening from members, tutorial films, and "How they made it"  films.
Tues 29th Oct AN EVENING WITH BOB LORRIMER…. Without Bob! Bob is a very creative amateur film maker, and tonight, we enjoy a selection of his films.
Tues 5th Nov THE CURRIE CUP COURSE: week 6 Our annual competition for the best four minute film or video and results of new members' introduction films
Tues 12th Nov GUEST SPEAKERS SHADOW AND SOUND Add depth, richness, emotion to your movies, with advice from film judges Dave and Jan Watterson
Tues 19th Nov ONLINE SHORT FILM COMPETITIONS A look at some online short competition entries to inspire us for future ideas. One of our members got into the finals this year!

Tues 7th Jan NEW YEAR - LETS GETS PLANNING! AND ALSO ENJOY YOUR FAVOURITE SHORT FILMS Team Planning begins for Wokingham Theatre film shoot (see 25Feb). Also, please bring a favourite short film to share for the second half of the evening. (max 10 mins)
Tues 14th Jan GUEST SPEAKER VOX POPS TECHNIQUES Professional Cameraman Matt Gibbs shares the secrets of getting the best from your interviewee
Tues 21st Jan Competition night THE BURKE TROPHY for the best ten minute film or video made by a club member who has not previously won a club competition (max 10mins) plus THE CAVERSHAM CUP for the best one minute film or video
Tues 28th Jan FRAMING THE SHOT A hands on evening on getting the best action shots for your fiction film. Pointers and Script challenge to be provided, and viewed next week (part 3 of making a successful film)
Tues 4th Feb OH YES HE DOES! Club member David Goddard presents on the challenges of recording live Panto Filming in the first half of this evening, followed by results of last weeks action shot challenge

Tues 11th Feb How Music and Film Work Together Club member Ian McDougall once again entertains us demonstrating the importance of music in film making.

Tues 25th Feb A NIGHT AT THE THEATRE Teams will film their drama using Wokingham Theatre (Twyford Rd, Wokingham, RG40 5TU) as a venue. (part 4 of making a successful film)
Tues 4th Mar WEAR ANY COLOUR EXCEPT GREEN! 2 screens, 2 teams, 2 Scripts, 2 films! We start our creation of 2 films using Chroma Key technique. Details of props to follow! We want EVERYONE to play a role, so lets see which team comes up with the best film edit to be screened in a few weeks time!
Tues 11th Mar DSLR FILMING TECHNIQUES George Riddell of MyWorldMyEyes will talk and demonstrate techniques of using a DSLR camera for video
Tues 18th Mar BERNARD BAREHAM FICTION TROPHY Our annual fiction film competition (max 15mins) including the Wokingham Theatre results (Part 5 - Screening your Film),
Tues 25th Mar FUN FILMING MOTORSPORTS

Member Tony Colvile presents on the challenges of filming a motor sports event. Also planning for our night shoot in two weeks time.

Tues 1st Apr IT'S YOUR EVENING A non competitive evening of member films they wish to share (15 min max)
Tues 8th Apr NO MEETING - blood donors We can’t have access to the Hall this week because it is being used for a Blood Donor session. Following last years success, teams will once again film in the challenge of poor light to create a fiction piece. Or meet up with fellow club members tonight if you prefer
Tues 15th Apr THE BOURNES CUP Our annual open competition for the best film or video.
Tues 22nd Apr AUCKLAND EIGHT MOVIE CLUB and Green Screen results We watch and discuss the work of this New Zealand Club, followed by the two entries from the recent Green Screen Shoot
FRI 25th Apr READING PREMIERE NIGHT We invite our friends and families to
see the highlights of our year and present
our awards at the Reading Golf Club.
Tues 29th Apr RESULTS ON THE BIG SCREEN and SUMMER PROJECT IDEAS Results of our outdoor film shoot, and Summer Project Discussions
Tues 6th May POETRY AT THE AGM AGM plus results of Poetry in Motion challenge
